Expectation vs Reality
No matter how busy or confined we are (thanks to COVID), it's always important for us to keep a balanced diet and exercise routine. All we need is a little inspiration, an exercise plan, and the right shoes to start exercising. Well, that's what Andy here thought when he ordered this snazzy pair of sneakers. Unfortunately, this new pair of Adidas Yeezy shoes turned out to be more of a curse than a blessing.
Andy received a pair of comically ugly slippers instead of his cool sneakers, as if the cosmos was telling him - you don't need to exercise today, just watch Netflix and order yourself some delicious pizza.
Not The Pizza We Need, But The Pizza We Deserve
Ordering a pizza is always the best option when we're too exhausted to cook or lack the essential cooking skills. It's cheap, fast, and delicious. We understand that restaurants may be swamped with orders these days, causing delays and possibly affecting the quality of their food, but this is unacceptable. Did the delivery guy get hungry on the way? And why is it cut like that? There's simply no excuse for this monstrosity.
As far as we can see, the lesson here is that the pizza place should give someone else a chance to make pizza. Or at least give the existing cook a few days off work.
That Didn't Turn Out Well Did It
Choosing a prom dress can be a nerve-wracking experience. For such a special occasion, young women often spend weeks or even months planning every aspect of their look, from cosmetics to hairstyles to shoes and jewelry. It is, after all, the most important night of a young person’s life after their wedding. Many prefer to buy their prom gowns online because of the wide range of options available. Sadly, they often regret this decision.
This poor girl thought that ordering her dress online was a decent option in these testing times. But alas, it was an immediate fail.
Worst Tattoo Ever?
This fan tried to pay tribute to the band Bon Jovi, and it went, well, slightly wrong. According to the person who posted this image, this is her boyfriend's unfortunate tattoo. We think song lyrics make cool tattoos, too, but next time, better choose a tattoo artist that knows how to spell. While some people get funny tattoos on purpose, others end up becoming a meme because of someone else's shoddy work.
The tattoo "artist" not only mistyped the singer's name, but they also managed to mess up the lyrics. It's an insult against body art, music, and our eyesight.
That's Not How Umbrellas Work
No matter how big an umbrella is, the primary reason for carrying one is to protect us from rain. This umbrella, on the other hand, decided it was time to go and actually flew away in what appears to be a bid for freedom, leaving its owner out to brave the elements on their own. We're not sure how this even happens, but this person definitely needs to get a refund, and a possibly towel, from the umbrella company.
To make matters worse, this person just bought this umbrella. We just hope they had a rainproof jacket on!
Let It... No
Orchestrating a child's birthday party may be a nightmare, as everything from picking the right theme to baking the perfect cake can go horribly wrong. That's why many parents choose premade cake done by professional bakers. This just goes to show a simple homemade cake isn't always the worst option. This mom thought she was getting an Elsa cake for her girl's birthday, but ended up getting something more like a baker's nightmare.
We could only picture the little girl's reaction when she saw this monstrosity. We can bet no one dared to eat this cake. What a waste of carbs!
We Got It, Don't Worry
Emily's mother thought it would be a great idea to get a cake with a blond topper for her fair-haired daughter's 21st birthday. Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out the way she had hoped. The baker was not at fault this time, though. This is simply a bad case of spellcheck, changing the order from blond to blind. We commend the baker for making exactly that, but they probably should have double-checked!
We have to say, the cake does look beautifully crafted and delicious. It's just not what the customer wanted!
What The Deck
The internet is full of surprises, scams, and all sorts of hilariousness. Many people have seen something for sale online and couldn't help but wonder if it's worth ordering, even when the price is too low to be real. This is the result of that. Trust your intuition — if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Instead of two adult deck chairs, this person ordered a pair more suitable for a dollhouse!
We wonder how good the deal was that dad here forgot to use his common sense. How tragic!
This Person Got Mugged
How can a picture be completley accurate and completely misleading at the same time? We commend this internet seller for achieving this, but we have a feeling the person who ordered this heat-sensitive mug for christmas wasn't as enthralled. Matt thought the dark image would turn into a festive one whenever their wife made herself a warm beverage, but alas, they got bamboozled. It is exactly what was advertised, though.
We can only hope Matt and his wife got a good laugh out of this, because we definitely did. It's a true triumph of false advertising.
Dressed To Kill
On the left here, we see a mesmerizing wedding dress fit for a princess. But on the right, we see an online shopper who doesn't look so mesmerized. This woman did not get the fairytale ending to her fairytale wedding, it appears. Designer wedding dresses sure come at a cost, but sometimes when you order cheap online, you get exactly what you pay for, and not in a good way.
The dress this woman got is a world away from the stunning picture that was advertised. We just hope she had enough time before the wedding to find a new one!
Of Course Not
The primary goal of skincare products is to make the skin appear healthier and more youthful. We buy skincare products with the hope that they would have a positive effect on our skin, without really knowing what we're getting. Abi thought she was in for some pampering when she purchased some fancy bath bombs. However, instead of the relaxing fun bath she had hoped for, she discovered that the product dyed her skin a brilliant pink.
Now, she looks kind of like a pink smurf. We really want to know how long it took for her skin to look normal. We hope she gets a refund or even a free stay at a luxurious secluded hotel so that she can hide in the room for a few days.
If They Don't Give A Name, Describe Them
We all love a confidence boost. Unfortunately, we now know that going to Starbucks when we're feeling self-conscious will make us feel better about ourselves. Starbucks staff are notorious for consistently misspelling customers' names; we're used to it and anticipate it. However, this customer is definitely entitled to a refund because the mistake appears to have been made on purpose. What could they have possibly misheard to justify this?
So they did get the tasty drink, but it cost them their self-confidence. As far as we're concerned, this was just a mean joke.
Not The Ideal Christmas Tree
So Reese’s made a lot of people upset with their Christmas tree candies; instead of looking like a Christmas tree, the chocolate peanut butter treats look more like an Easter egg. Perhaps they got their holidays confused? That seems possible. In any case, whatever this thing is, it's no Christmas tree, and it doesn't really put us in a jolly and festive mood. We were expecting more from you, Reese's.
Although this wonky chocolate probably tastes nice, its turd-like shape would surely put a damper on anyone's Christmas spirit. Our conclusion: the customer is entitled to a refund!
The Most Miserable Caesar Salad
People go to restaurants for numerous reasons. Sometimes they have something to celebrate, or they're not just in the mood for cooking. Trying something new and spending time with friends and family are also popular reasons to go out to eat. Going to a restaurant should be a pleasurable experience, not a confusing one. However, as this photograph demonstrates, it is sometimes preferable to stay at home and cook - even if you are not a trained chef, it couldn't get much worse than this.
As soon as the waiter brought her Caesar salad, this person was taken aback by what she saw. How is this restaurant still in business?
A Perfect Valentine's Day Gift Doesn't Exis...
The best way to surprise your significant other on Valentine's Day, their birthday, or any other special occasion is to make a romantic gesture. Flowers are always a good choice because they are gorgeous, heartwarming, and fragrant - they are the complete package. At least, that's what we believed. Unfortunately, the sight of these roses makes us depressed, which is the opposite of what they were supposed to do.
Instead of representing undying love, this bouquet looks more like a sad death. We hope whoever bought this didn't spend too much on it.
Where Is the Fourth One?
These were supposed to be four ornaments, but the package came with just three. We'd like to think there's a fourth ornament in there someplace, but the more likely scenario is that whoever made this is a sham. On the other hand, there are so many cases like these that we aren't even surprosed anymore. There's no possible explanation as to why this happened – there are only three ornaments, so why would the box say four?
We honestly hope someone bought this as a joke, otherwise, people would be greatly disappointed.
It's A Pink Mess
This person needed a dress for her sister's wedding, so she went online to find one. What she ended up getting is either a life-size Barbie or Disney princess costume, we're not sure. It has very little to do with what she initially purchased. Everything from the color to the fabric is just off. If the dress wasn't right for her sister's wedding, perhaps she saved it for Halloween and at least didn't have to go costume shopping.
This is not a total failure, but it isn't a total success either. There is a good chance she'll never order a dress online again.
Not Quite There
If someone has a big occasion coming up, it's very likely that they would want to dress to impress. That's why people spend hours, days, weeks, and even months looking for the perfect show-stopping garment, hoping that the time spent will be worthwhile. There was only one problem in this case: this woman got her dress online. Can you guess what's coming next? Ah, yes, another case of a cheaply made Barbie dress in human size.
This person fell hard for the showstopping gown pictured left, but ended up with a shower curtain mess on the right. Womp womp!
These Don't Look Very Mixed
Some people will only eat green Skittles, while others will only eat red M&Ms. People get quirky like that, and we all have a favorite color, but half of the fun is finding all the colors and picking out the ones we like out of the bunch. This person's disappointment is clear. What if red is his least favorite mixed fruit color? That makes it so much worse. We can feel his pain!
Maybe this is a sign from the heavens to quit the gummy candy and opt for real fruit next time. Who knows!
What an Upsetting Plate
While the music, design, and general environment of a restaurant are all significant factors in the overall restaurant experience, the food is the most crucial part. This sad attempt at plate making is so tiny, hardly any food fits inside, so there's hardly any flavor to be enjoyed. We're all familiar with upscale restaurants that provide little portions, but this is completely absurd. When we go out to eat, we don't want innovative plating choices. We want food!
It's a shame whenever a restaurant makes you realize that you should have stayed home and cooked. At least this way you won't end up hungry.
Santa Doesn't Look Right
This person got his kid a chocolate Santa as a treat for Christmas. When he opened it, he found an Easter rabbit inside. This isn't Christmas-y at all, which kind of misses the mark. This isn't the first time we've seen people merge Easter and Christmas themes together, and we're confused. It's like no one can be trusted anymore. Santa and the Easter bunny have virtually nothing in common!
This chocolate confection may look like Santa Claus on the outside, but don't be fooled: it's a full-blown Easter carnival on the inside. And a creepy one, too!
Orange Is The New Black, Right?
Every age group of children (and even some adults) enjoys the creative freedom that comes with crayons. The person who bought this box was expecting a variety of shades in this box of colored crayons because it says it contains 64 crayons. Kids aren't going to care about the fact that orange is a hot color right now in fashion and goes with everything. In any case, the inside of the box fails to deliver!
Was this something that was done on purpose? It seems like someone at the factory was in love with the color orange.
Talk About False Advertising
Alright. With potato chips, half-empty bags are a given, but a half-empty facewash tube is a whole different story. We're relatively ok with the neon color and the fact that it says 'D-tox,' but we still expect the bottle to be filled with enough product to last a while. Is this what we're getting for our money? It's like they weren't even trying to fill the entire thing up.
It could be a one-time mistake. But if they are purposefully doing it, we demand a full refund for every beauty and personal care product we've ever purchased. Who's on our side?
The Case of the Sad Tree
Here's one solid reason why everyone should avoid buying Christmas trees without seeing them first. It's best to search for the right tree for Christmas and get a feel for it before making a final decision. After all, it's possible that we'll end up with an underwhelming decoration-laden tree if we don't do something about it. It doesn't even like it would hold up any ornaments.
Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into before deciding to buy a pre-packaged plastic tree. All these shopping mishaps have taught us one thing: things aren't what they appear to be.
Hardly Texas Sized
Buc-ee’s is a well-known Texas-based convenience store chain with locations all across the United States. The establishment is similar to any other convenience store and gas station. It works as a roadside restaurant, where they serve their famous BBQ brisket burger in Texas-size and Texas-style. Sounds appetizing, doesn't it? However, the sad part is the advertisement, which reads "Big. Bold," and is accompanied by a photo of a substantial chunk of meat.
We wouldn't describe this pitiful excuse for a sandwich as "big and bold," and we'd surely ask for a refund if we had ordered one.
At Least It Fits the Cat
We get shoes, clothes, household goods, and just about anything else online, so why not get a sizzling hot swimming suit? Well, this is the reason why some people are skeptical when it comes to buying clothes online. We're not convinced if this girl ordered the wrong size, but we're inclined to believe that these bikinis are simply too small for her frame. That is to say, even if she ordered a size "small," it is supposed to fit a person, not a cat, right?
At the very least, her cat now has a brand new crochet shirt, though we're not sure she's thrilled about the gift. It's also a good idea to look at the comments before buying anything online.
Happy Easter
This chocolate Easter bunny is one of our all-time favorite Easter treats — after all, it's a cute bunny made of chocolate; what more could we ask for? However, the way it seems now, you'd never tell it was ever a bunny, and it certainly doesn't appear to be something that would add to the festive atmosphere. True, this may not entirely be the fault of the retailer, as this person may have forgotten the chocolate in their car and let it to melt in the hot sun.
In the event that we were looking for someone to blame, we'd definitely point our fingers at the business that advertised this as an "Easter bunny."
Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
Internet shopping appears to be the ideal alternative when you don't really wanna go to the mall. It is recommended that you lower your standards a little while you are buying online, especially when you are saving money. When this man purchased a gray tank top on Amazon, he expected to receive the tank top he had seen on the website. He did receive something gray, but it was most definitely not a tank top.
His comment on social media, on the other hand, was hilarious. We concur, sir! It does look great!
These Are Some Terrifying Looking Dinosaurs
We can't blame kids for being thrilled about dinosaurs. They're prehistoric and extinct, so their existence is shrouded in mystery, but they also appear to be really fascinating creatures. Unlike cats and dogs, they don't have as much to say. As much as we love them, they just are not as fascinating as dinosaurs. So as soon as this child opened the toy bag, he must’ve been disappointed to see a bunch of cats and dogs inside.
We might suck at history, but we know one thing — this is not how dinosaurs looked. We can only imagine the look of disappointment on the kid's face.
Never Gonna Shop Online Again
The risks associated with ordering clothes online have been discussed so many times; there is the risk of getting scammed. We also understand that ordering the wrong size could result in receiving something either too big or too small. However, we are still willing to take a chance because online shopping is fun and there’s a thrill in waiting for the order to arrive. Well, this guy took the risk and what he received is hilarious.
He didn’t get what he wanted at all. The sad part is that he doesn’t even have a doll to put this on. There's a lesson to be learned here for sure!
Taco Surprise
This person did not order a taco because that was not what they had in mind. It's one thing to stuff Doritos into a taco (even if it doesn't sound particularly tasty), but it's quite another to forget to remove the wrapper and bake the entire thing in the oven. The name of the establishment that served this monstrosity (which can scarcely be called food) escapes us, but we don't believe they can call themselves a "restaurant" any longer.
This is such a beginner’s mistake that there are only two conceivable reasons for his mishap: either a five-year-old created this "food," or this was created as a joke and was not intended for consumption.
The Pizza Is Crying
We all know about the biggest debate of all time: to put pineapple on pizza or to not. That is the question. Because, after all, pizza lovers around the globe have been divided for years on this never-ending debate. Whatever your preferred toppings are, we can't dispute that cheese is a necessary ingredient in every pizza recipe. Take into consideration how dissatisfied this person must have been when they opened the pizza box and found the cheesy sloppy slop.
Despite the fact that everyone enjoys the crust, the toppings are equally as important. This customer is absolutely entitled to a refund. After all, is there anything more unappealing than having to re-apply the cheese on pizza?
Not All Superheroes Wear Capes
Kids and adults love to dress up as their favorite superheroes on Halloween. For boys and adult men, it's either Spiderman, Batman, Deadpool or other superheroes. After ordering the Deadpool costume on the internet, this young man couldn't wait for Halloween to come around to wear it. Imagine his surprise and dismay when he discovered this awful costume. Imagine walking around the neighborhood and people asking, "What are you supposed to be?"
Any person, even one with the most rudimentary sewing skills, could have put together a more impressive outfit. The purpose of getting a costume online is to have something that is both attractive and professional in appearance.
This Flower Arrangement Is Depressed
What a lovely surprise it is to have flowers delivered to your place of work. In an attempt to encourage his girlfriend to have a successful day at work, Kane decided to bring her some flowers that would make her smile... but did it work? Well, she did smile, but not in the way Kane had hoped or expected. While it appeared to be a cute lion made of flowers when it was ordered online, it appeared to be a twisted shape of some sort of alien... creature?
One thing we know for sure is that this flower business knows how to put a smile on someone's face! It’s the thought that counts.
Amazon Strikes Again
Shopping online may be stressful at times, especially when we are unsure how our orders will turn out. Will the color be the same as it appears? Will it fit? When can we expect that to happen? Our anticipation builds as we await the arrival of our order, and when it does, we can't wait to get our hands on the package and start exploring everything. In some cases, our order is exactly what we had envisioned, but in other cases, we discover to our disappointment that we had been stressed for no good reason!
This woman came across these leggings on Amazon and decided to purchase them since she liked them a lot. Unfortunately, not everything that glitters is gold. Whatever she ended up with, those are most definitely not leggings.
Not Obvious at All
Who doesn't enjoy the excitement of a surprise party? What makes a surprise party special is the important element of SURPRISE. But this surprise went out of the window when this woman decided to throw a surprise party for her mother. She ordered the party materials online, which was her first mistake. She had no idea that her delivery instructions would detract from the element of surprise, but she had no choice.
The business in charge of the packaging not only overlooked the delivery instructions that had been received, but they also made it extremely clear that a surprise party was about to take place, resulting in the party being ruined. Perhaps she'll have greater luck in 2022?
Not Quite There
If we're being completely honest, this doesn't even appear to be the same dress like the one displayed in the photograph. She didn't buy the wrong size; she just received the wrong dress. Online shopping is typically less expensive and more convenient than going to the store, but as time goes on, we begin to realize the numerous drawbacks of buying online. People are frequently dissatisfied with their online purchases, and this is especially true for first-time buyers.
What is the lesson to be learned from this? If you ask us, we'll tell you where to go shopping. Yes, some of the people on this list had really terrible (if not downright unsettling) internet shopping experiences, but that does not mean that all online retailers are out to take advantage of us. All you need is a basic understanding of how to navigate the good retailers.
Do Your Math
We all have regrets at some point in our lives. For the most part, it's because of the internet. As a result of the internet, we've learned about the perils of making purchases online. With a single click, we could be on our way to a happy or frustrating experience. Apple fan? Most of us are either iOS or Android users, and we're all familiar with each other. When this woman purchased an iPhone 7 on eBay, she opened the package to find an iPhone 3, an iPhone 4, and a Yu-Gi-Oh! fusion card instead of the iPhone 7.
We can see how that person sent the fusion card to make fun of the unlucky buyer. Although we would want to see the two phones merge, this is unlikely to happen any time soon.
Did They Melt?
Have you ever had the good fortune to go to a fast-food restaurant and have your order delivered exactly as it appears on the screen? It may be only superficially similar at times, while at others it may be so drastically different that we wonder if we were given the wrong order. After placing an order for chicken nuggets at McDonald's, this individual did not anticipate receiving a box full of tartar sauce and not even a single piece of nugget.
This is the last thing anyone wants to see after patiently waiting for an order. We can only hope that this individual received a complete refund and even free nuggets.
Seems Legit
Online shopping is really convenient: there is an unlimited variety of things to choose from, and it only takes one click from the time you pay for it until you have it delivered at your doorstep. However, if something appears to be too simple, it may indicate that there is a catch somewhere. Apple products are generally considered to be pricey. So when this individual began looking for a Smartwatch online, he decided to go with the cheapest option available, and we can't say we blame him.
After realizing that his much-anticipated watch had turned out to be an "I-watch," he finally experienced the drawbacks of online buying. We bet this person went to an Apple store to buy an actual Apple watch afterward.
